NOTABLE PROJECTS AND UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES

The Antique Boat Shop

I had the distinct pleasure to spend some time with Jeff and company at The Antique Boat Shop, a highly sought after repair and restoration facility here in Fort Wayne.  I wanted to learn more about wood boats and this was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I spent a few days working with these fine folks and I learned a lot. I hope to be able to do this again in the near future.

1978 Grand Banks 42'

Ask anyone who knows me, and they will tell you I love these trawlers. They aren't built for speed, but they have undeniable charm, and they also happen to be very comfortable and capable. This was an incredibly clean example with an owner who really understood that they require a lot of maintenance. Meticulous records were onboard, and it was a pleasure to survey.

The Dixie Boat

I completed the most recent Insurance survey on the Dixie Boat in North Webster, Indiana. This was a challenge to put a value on because of its extensive history (Originally built in 1929!) but the fine folks who maintain the Dixie run an impressive operations and maintenance schedule and were instrumental in the completion of this survey. Truly a pleasure to work with them and I love the challenge that these unique vessels pose for surveyors.

2016 Prestige 550 Flybridge

I had the wonderful experience of completing a Pre-purchase survey on this 2016 Prestige 550 Flybridge, a 58' motor yacht with Zeus Pod Drives. It is always a pleasure doing these bigger and more modern surveys because it really challenges you as a surveyor. You have to complete a lot of research before the survey, you have to be incredibly organized during the survey, and the reports are always a challenge to get done in a timely manner, especially during the busy season. But if there is one thing I pride myself on, it is my ability to get the reports of survey into the hands of my clients as soon as possible!
